The Era Footwork Crew (The Era), pioneers of Chicago's footwork dance tradition, teach the basics and cultural history of Chicago footwork in an immersive dance workshop for all ages and backgrounds. ABOUT

The Era started in 2014 on the South Side of Chicago. They have been recognized as "cultural organizers of the year" byFADER Magazine, and are among the leading dance collectives in Chicago. Dancer/choreographers Litebulb, P-Top, Chief Manny and Steelo founded The Era, which also includes filmmaker Wills Glasspiegel and dancers Diamond Hardiman and Eleelee Chandler. The Era have collaborated with artists like DJ Rashad, Chance the Rapper and Jamila Woods. Their newest performance, IN THE WURKZ, issupported by a national dance project grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts. The Era work closely with music producers in Teklife and with the Chicago-based nonprofit, Open the Circle.
