About the Participants
International Arrivals creates opportunities for artists from countries in conflict or whose identity puts them at risk. Collaboration is central, connecting artists to communities through partnerships with organizations that not only support the arts but offer spaces for the exchange of ideas, collective learning, and sharing.
The Immigrant Artist Biennial (TIAB) is nomadic, shaping its identity as it roams, conceptually establishing its own territory. TIAB presents immigrant artists in numerous ways and through various formats, seeking to facilitate a platform of support for projects by often overlooked and silenced voices. Established in 2019 by Ukrainian born, NYC-based artist, curator, and educator Katya Grokhovsky, TIAB has presented over 200 artists across 20 venues and draws a diverse audience nationally and internationally, with a strong community in New York.
The TIAB 2023 catalog, with entries by Marie Louise Pratt, Jenny Wang, and Gee Wesley can be downloaded for free here.
IMPULSE Magazine is an arts and culture publication headquartered in New York City. Cutting-edge, insightful, and socially informed, IMPULSE dissects artistic work through the lens of migration, gender rights, activism, and global justice at large.
New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit service organization that offers in-person and virtual arts programs, services, and opportunities, tailored to the needs of our creative community. NYFA's mission is to empower artists in all disciplines, as well as cultural workers, to achieve success on their own terms.
Through the Immigrant Artist Program (IAP), NYFA serves a community of artists with diverse backgrounds who share the experience of immigration. IAP offers immigrant artists access to resources and opportunities to exchange ideas, foster collaboration, and amplify their voices in the American cultural landscape.
