About Christopher Currence
General Information
Christopher Currence is a Brooklyn-based photographer and filmmaker. His work often uncovers meaning in what society considers mundane. Rather than constructing alternate worlds of freedom and idealized beauty, he embraces the imperfections of reality. Deeply empathetic, his work explores the complexities, insecurities, and dreams of everyday people. In the quiet moments and conversations before he takes a photograph, he searches for the dignified vulnerability that emerges when someone lets their guard down. He strives to create work that is relatable and inclusive, while maintaining a refined attention to detail, aesthetics, and emotion.
