88 Keys 2 builds on 88 Keys 1 with deeper exploration of musical concepts, such as rhythm and melody. In this introductory class, participants will strengthen their understanding of basic music theory and develop their music reading skills. Learners will play on electronic keyboards.
About Miki Samasoto
Miki Sasamoto holds a Bachelor's degree in Composition and Musicology from Japan and has received a piano performance diploma from Mannes College of Music in New York. With a teaching license for Electone, an electronic organ instrument, and expertise in the Dalcroze Method, Miki brings a comprehensive approach to her instruction. Additionally, she serves as an accomplished accompanist for singers, choirs, and instrumentalists.
Throughout her teaching career, Miki has gained extensive experience in various teaching settings. She has successfully taught private piano lessons, early childhood group classes, and piano group classes at the Abrons Arts Center.
Miki's teaching philosophy focuses on developing her students' technique, fostering confidence, and instilling a deep motivation to perform joyfully in public.
